3 GUYS PLAYIN' THE BLUES started as a trio in July of 1999. 3 GUYS PLAYIN' THE BLUES is Chester Neville on vocals and guitar, Steve Lopez on drums and vocals, Jon Hougard on bass and vocals, Derrick Smith on Saxophones and vocals and Ron Tan on keyboards. Yes, we know, there are 5 guys in 3 GUYS PLAYIN' THE BLUES, but that's another story.

The sound of 3 GUYS PLAYIN' THE BLUES can best be described as "Smooth Blues," with a small scoop of jazz thrown in for extra flavor.
